Highland Z is a high quality, athletic filly with very good movement. She possesses a valuable mix of Holsteiner and Irish Sport Horse bloodlines - a cocktail guaranteed to generate performance potential!

Sire:

Ricardo Z is by Rebell II Z, who is a full brother to Renomee Z, who jumped at the Atlanta Olympics. He is also full brother to Ratina Z, who won two Olympic medals, Volvo World Cup, World Equestrian Games '94, she was the highest ranked mare in the world. Ramiro Z was the leading sire in the WBFSH 1997/1998. Ricardo Z's grandam Argentina Z is by the famous Alme Z. She has bred five international horses, two of which competed at the Olympics. Ricardo Z's dam Kuriosa is by the legendary Furioso II, the Selle Francais stallion although dead for many years was ranked 6th in the WBFSH rankings for 1997/1998.

Ricardo Z's stock has consistently topped the sales for a number of years. He has progeny competing internationally in eventing and showjumping. He also has had many champions in the show ring, including the Champion Foal in 2001 and Breeders Championship winner in 2003 at the RDS. He has also been well represented in the three year old loose jumping class with the third place in 2003 and the 2005 winner of the loose jumping class was a three year old filly by Ricardo Z out of a Cavalier Royale dam.

Dam:

Highland Mystique is a registered Irish broodmare and she is by Flagmount King. Flagmount King is one of the few sons alive by the famous King Of Diamonds and the only RID stallion to win open competition against the clock. He beat top horses such as Spring Elegance, Maloney's Error, etc. in Grand Prix competition. He competed at the Kerrygold Dublin Horse Show (RDS), Millstreet (Co. Cork) and Salthill (Co. Galway). He jumped on the British Junior Team, winning the P&O European Ferries Rose Bowl at Royal Highland Show in Edinburgh. He also jumped in Portugal, Belgium, France and Switzerland. He has 246 SJAI points (220 International Points).

The dam's sire of Highland Mystique is Cavalier Royale, a Holsteiner stallion that had a huge impact on Irish Sport Horse breeding for the decade he stood in Ireland. He produced some top horses, for example Amos, Charlton, Captain Christy, Gandini Stardust, King Cavalier, Royal Charmer, etc., etc. Cavalier Royale himself had a very successful career jumping for Switzerland. His progeny have topped sales prices for years and have dominated all major competitions in Ireland. Cavalier Royale's sire, Cor De La Bryere, is a legend in his own right, ranked 23rd in the WBFSH for 2002/2003. He is responsible for five out of six of the top horses in the Holsteiner studbook, which was the leading studbook between 2002/2003.
