The Grand Final of the Irish Horse Board Showjumping League 2007 took place at Cavan Equestrian 3 Day Show on Sunday 2nd September. The Irish Horse Board provided a prize fund of almost €17,000 for this event, the culmination of the IHB Showjumping League.

The Grand Finals of the Irish Horse Board Showjumping Classes 2007 will take place this Sunday, 2nd September, at the Cavan 3 Day Show. Horse and rider combinations that have gained points throughout the series have been invited to attend. In total, the IHB prize fund for Sunday’s event will be almost €17,000.

The seventh leg in the IHB series of showjumping classes took place at Limerick Show, which ran from 25th to 26th August 2007 at Limerick Racecourse.

Due to the low number of entries received for the Irish Horse Board Showjumping Classes at Limerick Show this weekend, Saturday’s qualifiers have been cancelled. All eligible entries will be allowed to jump in the finals on Sunday.

In the 5 year old final, Andrew Bourns rode Oakport White Water (ISH) to victory. This combination have had great success in the IHB Showjumping Series to date, the Millstreet final being their third win of the series. In the 6/7 year old final, it was John Melia’s Special Effects (ISH) ridden by Olive Clarke that were the winners.

Due to the cancellation of both the Ballina Show and the Tattersalls Ward Union Hunt Show because of bad weather, Boswell Show kindly accommodated the fifth leg in the series of IHB Showjumping Classes.

Due to the cancellation of the Ballina Show and the Tattersalls Ward Union Hunt Show, because of bad weather, the Irish Horse Board will hold a leg of their series of Showjumping Classes for Young Horses at Boswell Equestrian this weekend.

In the 5 year old final, Oakport White Water (ISH) and Andrew Bourns were victorious. This was the second victory of the season for this mare by Cruising (ISH). In the 6/7 year old final it proved to be Andrew Bourns’ day again, when he won the class on his six year old mare, Gowran Park (ISH).

The third leg in the series of IHB Showjumping Classes took place at Mullingar Show, which ran from 2nd to 4th June. The qualifiers in both age categories were held on Saturday, with the top twenty in each group going through to Sunday’s finals.

Winning the 5 year old final, was Fiona Campbell and Sallymount Touch of Clover (ISH). In the 6/7 year old final, Delyth Collins rode Creevagh Miss Jones (ISH) to victory.

The final leg in the IHB series of showjumping classes took place at Iverk, Piltown, Co. Kilkenny on Thursday 7th September. Based on points accumulated throughout the series, the top horses in each age category were invited to attend the Grand Final. Points were also being awarded at Iverk to determine the top three horse and rider combinations in each age group in the league.

The sixth leg in the IHB series of showjumping classes got underway at Cavan Equestrian Centre on Friday 25th August. A qualifier in each age category was held on Friday, with the top ten horses qualifying for the finals. On Saturday, the second set of qualifiers took place, with the top ten horses joining the top ten from Friday in the Sunday finals.

The fifth leg in the IHB series of showjumping classes for 5 year olds and 6/7 year olds took place at Boswell Equestrian from Friday 28th to Sunday 30th July. One qualifier in each age category was held on Friday morning, with the second set of qualifiers taking place on Saturday afternoon. Finals were held after the Grand Prix on Sunday.

The fourth leg of the IHB showjumping classes for 5 year olds and 6/7 year olds took place at Millstreet Show on Saturday 22nd July. With both qualifiers and finals being held on Saturday, it was a busy day for all those involved.

The third leg of the IHB showjumping classes for 5 year olds and 6/7 year olds took place at Ballina Show, on Sunday 9th and Monday 10th July. With the sunshine finally making an appearance mid morning, there was a huge crowd in attendance for the qualifiers. Strong entries ensured good jumping in both the 5 year old and 6/7 year old qualifiers. The top twenty horses in each age category went through to the finals, scheduled to take place on Monday morning.

The season finale of the IHB showjumping classes will be held at Iverk, Co. Kilkenny. Based on the points system, the top twenty horses in each age category from the results of the six other finals will be invited to attend the Grand Final at Iverk. As part of this Grand Final, the IHB will offer Riders’ Prizes in each age category. Prize money of €1,000, €500 & €500 will be awarded to the top three riders in each age category based on the above points system. Points for the Riders’ Prizes will be awarded at Iverk, as well as the six qualifying shows. Please note that points will be awarded on a Horse & Rider Combination basis

The second leg of the IHB showjumping classes for 5 year olds and 6/7 year olds took place at Galway County Show, running from 17th to 18th May. The first round of qualifiers took place on Saturday, with the top ten horses from each age group being selected to compete in the finals. The second set of qualifiers were held on Sunday, to make up the twenty horses in each age group going through to the afternoon finals.
