Irish Horse Board Showjumping Classes at Ballina Show

The third leg of the IHB showjumping classes for 5 year olds and 6/7 year olds took place at Ballina Show, on Sunday 9th and Monday 10th July. With the sunshine finally making an appearance mid morning, there was a huge crowd in attendance for the qualifiers. Strong entries ensured good jumping in both the 5 year old and 6/7 year old qualifiers. The top twenty horses in each age category went through to the finals, scheduled to take place on Monday morning.

The finals took place on Monday, with the ground holding well despite a wet start to the day. In the 5 year old class, Wineport Star and Thomas O’Brien were victorious after a superb clear round in a time of 26.22. Lucy Buchanan and Cavalier Andy retained their place on the top of the IHB League, after winning the 6/7 year old class.
