Irish Sport Horse Studbook Showjumping Series 2009 – Grand Finals

The Grand Finals of the Irish Sport Horse Studbook Showjumping Series 2009 took place at Tattersalls Ward Union Hunt International Show, which ran from 24th to 26th July. There was in excess of €15,000 in prize money on offer from Horse Sport Ireland for these young horse classes.
Irish Sport Horse Studbook Showjumping Series 2009 – Ballina Show

The penultimate leg of the Irish Sport Horse Studbook Showjumping Series took place at Ballina Show, which ran from 10th to 12th July. This leg was the last chance for horses and riders to qualify for the Grand Finals, which will run at the Tattersalls Ward Union Hunt International Show from 24th to 26th July.

The fifth leg in the Irish Sport Horse Studbook Showjumping Series 2009 took place at Omagh Show, which ran from 3rd to 4th July. The fourth leg in the Irish Sport Horse Studbook Showjumping Series 2009 took place at Galway County Show, which ran from 20th to 21st June. There was €10,000 on offer from Horse Sport Ireland for these young Irish Sport Horse classes.

The third leg of the Irish Sport Horse Studbook Showjumping Series 2009 took place at Mullingar International CSI2* this weekend. The two qualifier places took place on Saturday with the top 20 combinations in each qualifier making it through to Sunday’s finals. Horse Sport Ireland had a prize fund of €10,000 on offer for these young horse classes.

The second leg of the Irish Sport Horse Studbook Showjumping Series 2009 took place at Cavan Show this weekend. Horse Sport Ireland had €10,000 in prize money on offer for the 5 Year Old and 6/7 Year Old classes. The qualifier classes took place on Saturday, with the top twenty 5 year olds and the top twenty 6/7 year olds qualifying for Sunday’s finals.

The first leg in the 2009 Series took place at Louth County Show, which ran from 24th to 26th April. Full results, breeding information and League Standings are detailed below.
[ Monday, 8th September 2008 ]
The Irish Sport Horse Studbook Showjumping Series 2008 culminated in the Grand Finals, which were held at last weekend’s National Championships at Barnadown. Horse and rider combinations that had gained points throughout the series were invited to attend. The prize fund at the Grand Finals was almost €17,000, including riders’ prizes and breeders’ prizes.

In the 5 year old final, John Floody and Coppindell (ISH) were victories, taking their fifth victory in the series to date and strengthening their position at the top of the 5 year old league. Winning the 6/7 year old final was Judith Sossick’s talented mare, Loughview Lou-Lou (ISH) ridden by Conor Drain. The duo, having now recorded a hat trick of wins after taking the finals at both Ballina and Tattersalls, lead the 6/7 year old league.

Winning both the 5 year old qualifier and final were Lady Latt (ISH) and Mervyn Clarke Jnr. This moves the due into top position in the 5 year old league, just one point ahead of John Floody and Coppindell (ISH). In the 6/7 year old final, it was Conor Drain and Loughview Lou-Lou (ISH) who took top honours, also moving to the top of their league.

In the 5 year old final, Mervyn Clarke Jnr. continued on his winning form with Lady Latt (ISH). In the 6/7 year old final, Conor Drain was victorious with Loughview Lou-Lou (ISH).
[ Monday, 7th July 2008 ]
The 5 year old final saw eight horses going through to the jump off. In the end it was Mervyn Clarke Jnr. and his mare Lady Latt (ISH) that took the class, winning by almost 2 seconds after jumping clear. In the 6/7 year old final Edward Little and South Shore (ISH) were victorious, jumping double clear with a time of 36.25 in the jump off.
[ Tuesday, 24th June 2008 ]
It was Eddie Moloney’s weekend after he was victorious in both of Saturday’s finals, with his own horse You Two Norma (ISH) in the 5 Year Old Final and with John McDonald’s Chatsworths Top Quality (ISH) in the 6/7 Year Old Final.

Continuing on his amazing winning streak in the series, John Floody took both the finals, with Moonlone Prince (ISH) on the 5 Year Old Final and Larkhill Cruiser (ISH) in the 6/7 Year Old Final.

The third leg in the Irish Sport Horse Studbook Showjumping Series took place at Mullingar International CSI**, which ran from 31st May to 2nd June 2008. There was €10,000 in prize money, plus €800 in breeder’s prizes, on offer.

The second leg in the Irish Sport Horse Studbook Showjumping Series took place at Cavan Show, which ran from 16th to 18th May. There was €10,000 in prize money plus €800 in breeders’ prizes on offer at the show.
[ Monday, 28th April 2008 ]
Winning the 5 Year Old Final was John Floody with Coppindell (ISH). The duo put in a superb performance in the jump off, coming home is 35.67 seconds. John also took second place in the 5 Year Old Final with Moonlone Prince (ISH). The 6/7 Year Old Final proved lucky for John Floody as well, when he won the class with Larkhill Cruiser (ISH).
