Young Irish Sport Horse talent on display at Barnadown

The second of the Irish Horse Board Showjumping classes for Five year olds and for six-seven year olds got underway at Maurice Cousins farm in Barnadown, Co Wexford. With €4,000 on offer each final riders were keen to qualify their horses for the finals on Sunday the 4th September. Winning the five year old class was the Lanaken bound mare Gucci Z by Ricardo Z out of a mare by Spring Elegance and owned and bred by Andrew Kirwin. In the Six & Seven year old class another Lanaken bound horse claimed victory, Ballinclover Boy, a 1998 gelding by Ballinvella out of a Clover Hill mare, bred by Daniel Barrett and owned by Nicola Flynn, ridden by Eddie Maloney. Ballinclover Boy jumped the fastest round to claim the €1,300 first prize.
