Charleville Agricultural Show

The Irish Horse Board were proud to sponsor the IHB Broodmare Class at Charleville show, which took place on Sunday 24th June 2007. Prize money of €600 was on offer from the IHB.

Eligibility for the IHB Broodmare Class stated:

• Mares must have the breedcode ISH, RID or ID
• Mares must be by a stallion classified as Approved in the Irish Horse Register
• Mares must have their dams recorded on their passport

Out of a strong field of 18 entries, it was Joseph Grace’s Rusheen Clover (ISH) that emerged victorious on the day. This mare was granted Premier Mare status in 2006.

The Irish Horse Board are delighted to have been associated with this prestigious class, which showcased some of our high quality broodmares. The IHB would like to thank all those at Charleville Show for all their hard work.

3rd Kief Princess (ISH) – 1998 chestnut mare by Nautilus (KWPN) out of Parkroe Mandy (ISH), by Knockboy (RID). Bred by Helen McMahon, Parkroe, Craughwell, Co. Galway. Owner: Kieran Fahey
4th Callinafercy Mavra (ISH) – 2004 brown mare by Colin Diamond (ISH) out of Greenhall Cailin Deas (ISH), by Mister Lord (TB). Bred by Derry Rothwell, Greenhall, Tinahely, Co. Wicklow. Owner: Callinafercy House Stud
