Irish Horse Board Classes showcase quality around the country

The Irish Horse Board sponsored several showing classes over the weekend. On Saturday the All Ireland Filly foal championships were held at the 164th Moate Agricultural Show in Co. Westmeath which saw James Lynchs’ filly by Nash Me (TB) take the title of All Ireland Champion filly foal out of the mare Rosewood Chiff Chaff by Political Merger (TB). This combination was also 4th in the Breeders championship at Dublin. The Irish Horse Board offered a premium of €150 to each exhibitor who showed up for the final. 

Limerick show played host to three classes sponsored by the Irish Horse Board. Saturday saw the Aughinish Limerick Matron Championship go to the Dublin Breeders Cup Champion Leader Star and her foal by Big Sink Hope (TB). Bred by Luke Morley of Magheramore, Bekan, Claremorris, Co Mayo and owned by Jim Tempany of Skreen, Co Sligo. The Irish Horse Board offered premiums of €500 to the top ten.

Also on Saturday the Irish Horse Board offered Premiums in the Aughinish Alumina Ltd two year old registered Irish Draught Championship which saw Tom Gibbons homebred filly claim victory. This filly is by Welcome Flagmount (RID) out of Clooncastle Countess (RID) by Grey Macha (RID). The Irish Horse Board offered a premium of €150 to each exhibitor who showed up for the final.

On Sunday the Irish Horse Board was delighted to be sponsors of the Special Showing/ Performance class for Irish Bred Hunters/Eventers. Claiming victory in this class was Terence Leonards Ballynoecastle Spy by Clover Brigade (ISH), out of Masters Diamond (ISH) by Master Imp (TB). Bred by Jim Murphy, The Alamo, Goresbridge, Co Kilkenny. The Irish Horse Board offered generous prize money for the class and also gave €100 to each exhibitor who competed.
