Irish Horse Board Supporting Connemara Pony Classes in Westport

The Irish Horse Board was delighted to support two Connemara Pony classes, which were held on Sunday the 11th of September 2005 in Drummindoo Equitation Centre, Westport.

The first of the Irish Horse Board sponsored classes was the All-Ireland Loose Jumping Championship for 3 year olds. This class was very well supported with a total of 29 ponies competing on the day. Lieutenant Geoffery Curran of the Army Equitation School assisted in the judging of what was a wonderful display of the ability of the Connemara Pony. The overall winner of the class was Ria O’Callaghan’s filly by Ardvinna Andy (CP).

The second of the Irish Horse Board sponsored classes was the Discovery Class for 4 year olds. Ponies were jumped over a small course of fences by their rider and also by Lieutenant Geoffery Curran. Robe Clooneen Ranger (CP), a gelding by Caperan Ranger (CP), came out on top of the Discovery Class.

The Irish Horse Board is delighted to be associated with such a successful event and wish to thank the South Mayo Horse Breeders Association and Mr Paddy Joe Foy for the excellent facilities they provided.

4th Gelding by Robe Earl (CP) out of Laurence (CP). Owner: Triona Murphy, Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo. Breeder: Gabriel Murphy, Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo.
5th Gelding by Glenvalley Grey (CP) out of Misty Venture (CP). Owner: Walter Stanley. Breeder: Padraic Conneely, Inverin, Co. Galway.
6th Gelding by Robe Earl (CP) out of Coral Hill (CP). Owner: Gabriel Murphy, Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo. Breeder: Peter & Jean MacClancy, Ballymore Eustace, Co. Kildare.
