IHB Supporting ISA All Ireland Championships

The Irish Horse Board was delighted to support two ISA classes last weekend. The first class was the Irish Draught Yearling Filly Championship, which took place in Roscommon on 20th August. The second class was the Two Year Old Filly All Ireland Championship, which took place in Kildysart on 21st August.

The weekend started off well at Roscommon, with all 14 qualifiers turning up on the day to compete. In the end it was Eddie Murphy’s filly, by Crannagh Hero (RID) out of Holly Daisy (RID) by Ginger Holly (RID), that took the Irish Draught Filly class. The Irish Horse Board boosted the prize fund by awarding premiums of €150.00 to each of the exhibitors.

On Sunday, competition moved to Kildysart. Once again entries were high, with 24 of the 26 qualifiers showing up for the Two Year Old Filly class. It was Desmond Gibson’s filly, by Big Sink Hope (TB) out of Ballard Lady (ISH) by Sillot Hill (RID), who was victorious. Once again, the €150.00 premiums were an added bonus for all competitors on the day.

The Irish Horse Board was very pleased with the outcome of both shows. As expected, the standard in both classes was very high and it is hoped that these classes will help to highlight top quality young stock.
