Potential Irish Dressage Horse class gets underway at Charleville

Charleville Show played host to the first qualifier of the newly sponsored Irish Horse Board and Dressage Ireland Potential Irish Dressage Horse Class.

These young horses were judged on their paces, conformation, temperament, way of going and potential to train. With two top dressage riders, Ann Marie Dunphy and Donie McNamara, judging the class entrants were keen to show off their horses’ paces in a bid to qualify them for the final in Marlton Stud in September.

Winning the class was Terence Leonard’s Castlenoe RM, a five year old gelding by Ramiro B (BWP) out of Ballyvaldon Natalie (ISH) by Blue Laser (TB). Castlenoe RM was bred by Sylvester Cullen, Ballyvaldon, Blackwater, Co Waterford.

4th Ardcanny Lad (ISH) -  2001 gelding by Colin Diamond (ISH), out of Rhine Gold Bess (ISH) by Kinghave (TB). Bred PJ Tierney, Mount Pleasant, Blue Ball, Tullamore, Co Offaly.
5th JJ Punch (ISH) - 2000 gelding by Templebready Fear Bui (CP), out Rosies Flair (IRIP). Bred by Sonya Steyn, Copperfield, Kilfrash, Knocklona, Co Limerick.
