Potential Irish Dressage Horse Classes

The next qualifier in the IHB and Dressage Ireland series of Potential Irish Dressage Horse classes will take place at:

Ardrahan Show, Co Galway on Sunday 9th July

Eligibilty:
This class is for 4 and 5 year old horses. Horses with breed codes ISH, RID or ID that are registered in the IHR by a stallion approved in the Main Studbook of the IHR, and with sire and dam documented on the passport, are eligible for these classes.

The aim of this class is to identify horses bred in Ireland who have the conformation, temperament and potential to be produced as a riding horse suitable for dressage.

The class will be held in an open area, similar to a showing class. The horses to be ridden in a snaffle bridle with a cavesson, drop or flash noseband.

The horses will be judged on:

• The freedom and regularity of the walk trot and canter.
• Conformation
• Temperament
• Way of going
• Potential to train as a dressage horse

The class will be judged by a top dressage rider and trainer. There will be a marking sheet for each rider and the best 12 horses from the 6 shows will qualify for the finals at the National Championships to be held at Cavan Equestrian Centre Co. Cavan, September 2/3/4 2005

Prize Money:

• Prize money finals: 1st €1000, 2nd €750, 3rd €500, 4th €250,
• Breeder of winner: €300
• Prize money qualifiers: 1st €120 : 2nd €80: 3rd €60: 4th €40
