The eventing circuit proved a happy hunting ground for Irish Sport Horses again this week when Ballincoola (ISH) and William Fox-Pitt (Gbr) finished third in the prestigious CCI4* at Badminton Horse Trials. The duo’s success comes only a week after Connaught (ISH) won the CCI4* at Rolex Kentucky. Irish Sport Horses dominated the placings at Badminton, with eight of the top twenty being Irish bred.

On the showjumping circuit, Captain David O’Brien (Irl) scored his first major victory of the season with Mo Chroi (ISH), by winning the 1m50 class at Maubeuge in France. This hotly contested class boasted a prize fund of €18,400, with the Army Equitation School rider taking home almost €5,000 for his win.
