FEI European Eventing Championships, Pratoni del Vivaro (Ita)

Irish Sport Horses Call Again Cavalier (Mary King – Gbr) and Ringwood Cockatoo (Bettina Hoy – Ger) have finished in individual second and third place respectively at the European Eventing Chanmpionships in Pratoni del Vivaro.

In the team line up, Great Britain were victorious by a margin of almost 70 points. Call Again Cavalier & Mary King (Gbr) and Spring Along (ISH) & Daisy Dick (Gbr), contributed significantly to this team victory. The highest placed Irish combination in the individuals was Watership Down (ISH) & Louise Lyons (Irl), who finished in 20th place.

An unfortunate incident on the cross country phase forced Millridge Kalmar (ISH) & Sally Corscadden (Irl) to retire. With only three Irish team members competing at the European Championship, Ireland’s hopes of competing at the next Olympics were over.
