Horse Sport Ireland Young Breeders Competition

The closing date for the Horse Sport Ireland Young Breeders Competition, which is organised in conjunction with Teagasc, has been extended until Friday 25th July 2008.

This year's competition will be held at Gurteen College, Roscrea, Co. Tipperary on Tuesday 29th July and is open to anyone between 15 and 24 years of age that have an interest in horses.

Judges for the competition include Col. Ned Campion, Tom Slattery, George Chapman and Philip Coppithorne. Participants will be judged on the following sections:

1. Theory
2. Presenting a horse in-hand
3. Judging the gaits of loose horses
4. Judging loose jumping
5. Ranking three mares on conformation
