Irish Horse Board Presentations at the Dublin Horse Show 2007

The Irish Horse Board were delighted to be able to make two important presentations at the Failte Ireland Dublin Horse Show, RDS 2007.

The first of these presentations was to the three Irish showjumpers who have competed at the top of their sport this year on Irish Sport Horses. Commandant Gerry Flynn (Irl), riding Mo Chroi (ISH) won the 1m50 Grand Prix class at Drammen (Nor) CSIO*****. This combination went on to score a huge victory later in the week at the RDS, by winning the Dublin Grand Prix. Marion Hughes (Irl) and Heritage Transmission (ISH) finished first in the 1m50 Grand Prix at Vimeiro (Por) CSI***. Alexander Butler (Irl) and Sea Dancer (ISH) were the victors in the Young Riders Grand Prix class at Wierden (Ned) CSIOY.

Joe Walsh, IHB Chairman, and Nicholas Finnerty, IHB Director General, were present in the Main Arena on Thursday of the Dublin Horse Show to make the presentation to the three riders and their Irish Sport Horses for their important contribution to the industry.

The second presentation was made to Peter Byrne, breeder of Noble Springbok (ISH) who is the current European Pony Eventing Champion, winning both individual and team gold for the British team. Noble Springbok (ISH), ridden by Libby Soley (Gbr), also won team gold and was the individual silver medallist in last year’s European Championships. He previously won individual bronze in 2005, but in 2007 finished on his dressage score of 41.00 to become European Pony Champion.

Joe Walsh and Nicholas Finnerty presented Peter Byrne with an Irish Horse Board Certificate of Recognition on Thursday morning of the Dublin Horse Show.
