Implementation of Equine Passport Regulations

The Irish Horse Board would like to remind all horse owners of the equine passport regulations which states that all equidae being moved out of a holding must be accompanied by an identification document.

Minister for Agriculture and Food, Mary Coughlan T.D., has recently stated that a publicity campaign to inform the public of these regulations will be put in place in the near future. In addition, the Department of Agriculture and Food will be holding random compliance checks with regard to identification documents at sales, ports and other places where horses are assembled.

Passports for horses and donkeys are available from the Irish Horse Board. For further information please contact a member of staff on 01 505 3584 or visit www.irishsporthorse.com
