Irish Horse Board appoint Chairman and Vice-Chairman

The Irish Horse Board is pleased to announce that Joe Walsh has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Board. The appointment of the former Minister for Agriculture and Food was made at a meeting of the Board on Wednesday 5th October 2005. Mr. Walsh, who takes over the chair from Michael Osborne, was elected to the Board on 28th September 2005, by the Minister for Agriculture and Food, Ms. Mary Coughlan TD.

The Board also elected a new vice-chairman at yesterday’s meeting, with Kate Horgan taking over from Michael Duignan. Since her appointment this June, Ms. Horgan has served as a director of the Board representing Region 3 (Cork, Kerry, Waterford, Limerick). Ms. Horgan previously served on the Board, when she held the position for the period from 1994 to 2003.

The Irish Horse Board would like to extend its congratulations to Joe and Kate and wish them well at this important stage in the development of the sport horse industry.
