Irish Horse Board sponsors exhibition of Irish horses

Last week the Irish Horse Board sponsored and organised an exhibition of Irish horses for 120 international delegates who were attending the ‘European Association of Animal Production (EAAP)’ conference, which was held in Dublin from the 26th to the 29th of August 2007. The delegates, who hailed from 37 different countries, were treated to a coaching demonstration, a native breed exhibition and a tour of the facilities at R.A.C.E. and Kildangan Stud.

The exhibition, which took place at R.A.C.E. on the 29th of August, included a coaching demonstration which was carried out by Comdt. John Ledigham with horses kindly supplied by the Army Equitation School. Following the coaching demonstration Mr. William Micklem was on hand to give a wonderful commentary on the Irish horse as the delegates were shown an array of Irish Sport Horses, Irish Draught Horses, Connemara Ponies and Kerry Bog Ponies. Before leaving R.A.C.E. the delegates were given a tour of the facilities, including a demonstration by a master farrier.

From R.A.C.E. the touring party moved to Kildangan Stud where the delegates were given a tour of the magnificent stud and witnessed a display of top class Thoroughbred horses.

The Irish Horse Board was delighted to have this opportunity to promote the Irish horse and are deeply indebted to everyone involved for their assistance. The Irish Horse Board would especially like to thank all those who brought horses for the exhibition, R.A.C.E. for hosting the event, and Kildangan Stud for their hospitality.
