Irish in Flying Form at the CSIO in Rome

Luck was with the Irish at last week’s CSIO in Rome. While the Irish team gained a valuable four points in the Samsung Super League, Irish Sport Horses were rarely out of the top placings in the week’s classes. Gerry Maguire (ISH) and Britain’s Robert Smith, put in an impressive display in the Longines Puissance. Not only did they win the class after being the only duo to clear the wall at 2m10, they then went on to win a bonus prize by clearing the puissance wall at a massive 2m20. Elsewhere on the showjumping circuit, Irish Sport Horses were also in the prizes. Stars of the 6/7 year old IHB young horse classes in 2005, Mullaghdrin Gold Rain (ISH) and Shane Breen were victorious in Aachen.
