Irish Sport Horses Put In A Superb Performance in the Aga Khan Nations Cup

With three of the four Irish team members riding Irish Sport Horses in the Nations Cup at Dublin, it was a fantastic day for the breed who put in strong performances in the second last leg of the Samsung Superleague. The Irish team consisted of Captain Shane Carey and Killossery (ISH), Shane Breen and World Cruise (ISH), Cian O’Connor and Irish Independent Echo Beach (ISH), and Cameron Hanley and SIEC Hippica Kerman. With much needed points on offer, the Irish team put in a Trojan effort to finish the competition in 3rd place. It was a good reflection of the quality of jumping that the Irish team finished with only 6 faults after both rounds, with Shane Breen and World Cruise (ISH) contributing a double clear.

While the Nations Cup was one of the main highlights, the crowds were in attendance at the 2006 Dublin Horse Show for the wide range of showjumping, eventing and showing classes taking place over the week. Marie Burke (Irl) and Chippison (ISH) jumped clear all the way but picked up an unfortunate time fault to finish an impressive 3rd in the Grand Prix on Sunday.
