Punchestown International Three Day Event & Horse Show

The Irish Horse Board were proud to be title sponsors of this year’s Punchestown International Three Day Event & Horse Show, which took place from 17th to 20th May. The event kicked off with dressage on Thursday and Friday, the cross country element of the Event was held on Saturday, and finally the showjumping took place on Sunday.

Winning the Irish Horse Board CCI*** was New Zealand’s Andrew Nicholson and Silbury Hill. The highest placed Irish Sport Horse was Another Cavalier, who finished an impressive fourth with Matthew Wright (Gbr).

In the CCI**, Master Mexico (ISH) and Michael Ryan (Irl) were victorious. In the CCI*, Michael’s wife Patricia continued the success by riding the highest placed Irish Sport Horse, Ballylynch Adventure, into a very respectable third position.

There was widespread agreement that the Punchestown Event was a tremendous success and that the Punchestown facilities are an invaluable asset in hosting an event of this calibre. There was general acceptance among the experts and riders alike, that the ground condition on the cross country course were excellent.
