Rockrimmon Silver Diamond (RID) presented to new custodian

The Irish Draught Stallion, Rockrimmon Silver Diamond, was presented to the Irish Horse Board by his late owner, Mr. Barry O'Brien, in 2005. The stallion was born in 1994 and is fully approved in the Irish Horse Register. He was bred by Patrick Gleeson, Coolgreen House, Dromkeen, Co. Limerick.

For the 2006 and 2007 breeding seasons, the stallion stood with Mr. Timothy Carey of Tullaghansleek Stud, Co. Westmeath. Applications were invited in November for stallion masters to apply for custody of Rockrimmon Silver Diamond (RID) for the 2008 and 2009 breeding seasons. Final selection was made by means of a draw among eligible applicants. The applicant selected was Mr. Fulton Buchanan of Coole Stud, Cranford, Letterkenny, Co. Donegal.

On Monday 28th January 2008, Rockrimmon Silver Diamond (RID) was officially handed over to his new custodian, Fulton Buchanan, by Nicholas Finnerty, Director General of the Irish Horse Board. The Irish Horse Board would like to thank Timothy Carey for acting as custodian of the stallion for the past two years and to wish Fulton Buchanan every success for the breeding seasons ahead.
