Splaine Announces European Championship Team

The Irish Showjumping Team Manager, Robert Splaine, has announced his selection for the Irish team to compete in the European Showjumping Championships, which will take place in Mannheim, Germany from 14th to 19th August 2007. The five man squad includes three Irish Sport Horses.

The five riders selected for the Europeans are as follows: 

• Marie Burke & Chippison (ISH) 
• Cameron Hanley & SIEC Hippica Kerman 
• Marion Hughes & Heritage Transmission (ISH) 
• Jessica Kurten & Castle Forbes Libertina or Quibell 
• Cian O’Connor & Irish Independent Echo Beach (ISH) (Fifth Man)

Chef d’Equipe is Robert Splaine and Team Vet will be Marcus Swail.

Breeding of the above Irish Sport Horses:
Chippison (ISH) – 1993 brown stallion by Cavalier Royale (HOLST)
Heritage Transmission (ISH) – 1995 bay gelding by Cavalier Royale (HOLST) out of Gina XIV (ISH), by Diamond Serpent (ISH). Bred by Max Hauri, c/o John Hughes, Williamstown Stud, Clonsilla, Dublin 15
Irish Independent Echo Beach (ISH) – 1997 chestnut mare by Clover Echo (ISH) out of Gifted (ISH), by Cavalier Royale (HOLST). Bred by Brendan McSorley, Tallymulmona, Fintona, Co. Tyrone
