THE Spring stallion inspections for classification of stallions on the Irish Horse Register will take place on week commencing Monday 3rd of March 2008, at regional venues.

On Saturday 19th January 2007, Seamus Walsh, on behalf of his sister Yvonne, accepted an award from John Hanly, of sponsors Merial, and Nicholas Finnerty, from the Irish Horse Board and representing the WBFSH, in recognition of McKinlaigh’s achievement of being the top ranked sport horse in the individual eventing rankings.
Rockrimmon Silver Diamond Presented to New Custodian

This year for the first time the Irish Horse Board have established an annual Breeders Awards to honour and acknowledge the breeders of top class Irish Sport Horses. Full detailed of award recipients are outlined below.

For the 13th consecutive year the Irish Sport Horse Studbook has achieved the prestigious title of the leading studbook in the World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses Eventing Rankings 2006/2007.

The World Breeding Eventing Championships took place at Le Lion d’Angers from 18th to 21st October. The Irish Sport Horse breed was well represented at this prestigious young horse competition.

The 2007 FEI World Breeding Jumping Championships for Young Horses got underway in Lanaken, Belgium on Thursday the 27th of September. A total of fifteen Irish Sport Horses travelled to Lanaken to compete in the prestigious young horse competition.
