The FEI World Breeding Jumping Championships for Young Horses will take place from 24th to 27th September 2009 in Lanaken, Belgium. The following horse and rider combinations have been selected to represent the Irish Sport Horse Studbook at his prestigious event.

The Grand Finals of the Irish Sport Horse Studbook Showjumping Series 2009 took place at Tattersalls Ward Union Hunt International Show, which ran from 24th to 26th July. There was in excess of €15,000 in prize money on offer from Horse Sport Ireland for these young horse classes.

Horse Sport Ireland is pleased to announce for a limited period, a reduction in passport registration fees for the period commencing 1st April until 31st May 2009. White (non-pedigree) passports will be available during this period for the reduced fee of €25. In addition, during the same period, HSI will offer the endorsement of passports for Thoroughbred mares (Weatherbys passports) at a reduced fee of €25.

The 2008 Irish Sport Horse Breeders Awards took place last night (December 10th) in the Abbeyleix Manor Hotel, Co. Laois in conjunction with the Annual General Meeting of the Irish Horse Board Co-operative Society Limited.

At the Express Eventing International Cup, on Sunday 30th November, Alison Corbally (WBFSH representative) made a presentation to Anne-Marie in recognition of her achievement. Ben Along Time (ISH) and Clayton Fredericks (Aus) finished in fourth place in the Express Eventing competition, taking home their share of the £250,000 prize fund.

For the 14th consecutive year, the Irish Sport Horse Studbook has topped the World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses (WBFSH) Eventing Studbook Rankings. The Irish Sport Horse Studbook was presented with the prestigious award at the WBFSH General Assembly in Lyon, France, yesterday, 4th November 2008.

Horse Sport Ireland has announced details of the Irish Draught mare inspections. Inspections will begin on Tuesday 23rd September, running until Monday 29th September.
Inspections will be carried out by two teams of judges and a vet.

In the 5 year old final, John Floody and Coppindell (ISH) were victories, taking their fifth victory in the series to date and strengthening their position at the top of the 5 year old league. Winning the 6/7 year old final was Judith Sossick’s talented mare, Loughview Lou-Lou (ISH) ridden by Conor Drain. The duo, having now recorded a hat trick of wins after taking the finals at both Ballina and Tattersalls, lead the 6/7 year old league.

The 2007 FEI World Breeding Jumping Championships for Young Horses got underway in Lanaken, Belgium on Thursday the 27th of September. A total of fifteen Irish Sport Horses travelled to Lanaken to compete in the prestigious young horse competition.
